Who Else Wants God's Mountaintop?

October 15, 2015

I would not call myself a seasoned traveler. However, I traveled to many places within and outside of the United States. When my Beloved Saviour presented me with the opportunity to travel to West Virginia with my husband and son for the John Henry Days Festival to promote The “John Henry Movie” which my husband is producing and starring in (as well as myself), I didn’t know what to expect.  Road Trip.  I said to my Lord “when do we pack to leave?”

The time came to leave the second weekend in July. As we entered West Virginia, my jaw dropped. What a breath-taking sight! I had seen mountains before in the Northeast, but never like this!

They were all around us -- deep, wide and far beyond what the human eye could ever behold. No picture could capture this beautiful landscape created by my Love.

Amos 4:13 - "For, lo, he forms the mountains, and creates the wind, and declares unto man what is his thought, that makes the morning darkness, and treads upon the high places of the earth, The LORD, The God of host, is his name."

As we drove further and deeper into the mountains, the gorgeous view that my eye beheld disappeared. The mountains, like His love, enveloped us. We were “in” the mountains. How wonderful I felt feeling this kind of love.

As I approached my 16th wedding anniversary, I can’t think of a better time for the Lord to bring us to the mountaintop than now.  I’m so glad to be mature enough to experience this with my wonderful husband and sweet loving son.

After living inside the belly of a large fish a few years ago, rescued by the renewal of my faith, and experiencing the restoration of what the locusts had eaten, God was kind and loving enough to show me and my family the mountaintop. He reminded me of the route I had to take to get there. It was only when I was broken and willing through His strength to allow Him to remold and use me that I was able to finally see this mountaintop. It took some time getting there, but reaching that final destination was more than worth it. The view from the mountaintop is indescribable. That view was God’s way of saying “This is my master plan for you – to live life abundantly.” I have experienced so many blessings that I can't even begin to list them all. I am living the life of a rock star, as the saying goes. Do I still experience problems? Yes. Do I still fall at times? Yes. But the greatest thing is that all I have to do is run to Him and He resolves it for me. What a relief!

This abundant life is by no means something I earned. I could never earn God’s grace and mercy. It is only by having that continual relationship with Him and His unconditional love for me that I am experiencing the mountaintop. The abundant life is peace, joy and any blessings that might come with it. My thank yous cannot begin to cover all that He has done for me, but I will try anyway by saying THANK YOU!

Matthew 6:33 "But seek first the kingdom of God and his righteousness, and all these things will be added to you."

John 10:10 "The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy. I came that they may have life and have it abundantly."
